On my return sump ridge hose, there seems to be 2 feet of slack. Is this okay? The hose I bought from Lowes there seems to be specific places where u can cut.

As long as the return rate meets you needs I dont see any issues. Are you saying if you cut then it would be too short?

no the hose is 24'. every 6 feet the hose has specific areas where u can cut. Yeah u can cut anywhere u want, but the ends wont have that area to allow adapters to slip on easily.

Got it. If that were me and set to use the hose, I would do as you did as long as it's not effecting anything.

You should be able to cut wherever and still fasten it down with the clamps even if it isnt on a smooth part

Oh and just connect using a steep clamps?
Yes but i would use the smoooth end and attatch thay part to the tank for return.....use the jagged edge and conect that end to the pump with a steep clamp since it is going to be undwr water anyways
