I have 3 total, an ornate, a delhezi (what we were told it was), and an albino senegalus (he's too small to be in the tank with these guys right now). The one in question when he actually colors up he looks like what we were told he was. But that doesn't happen often. Here's anot her pic. If he's not a Delhezi, what do you think he is?

I copied your other pic to have them on the same page to compare

The pattern and head remind me of a hybrid, Im thinking an ansorgii x endli mix. Total guess but does not look delhezi. Anyone else?

It came from a LFS and who knows if they know for sure. I got lucky with Queen B and she is what they said. I'm interested in what everyone thinks!

I think it's safe to say everyone was right and we had success! She has a big full belly this morning. So does the Delhezi. View attachment 1180445 View attachment 1180446
So what all did u get them to eat after "The Great Fasting"? :)

I would love to figure a way to feed live as a treat. Whats an easy fish to breed ? Minnows ?
Live-bearers....Guppys, Mollys, Platys, etc. You already have cichlids.....a pair of Jewels will yield about 300-400 fry every MONTH compared to the Convict which breed as frequent but only produces 40-100 per clutch, mine only do around 60 atm. My Jewel fry are only 12 days old and eating crushed flakes already, the previous are 1 & 1/2 months and are 1/4" and starting to look like their parents already. Growth rate was more than twice of the Convicts at the same temp; 78F

EDIT: I like the ornate as your avatar better, dude :)
Cool which would hreed the quickest ?
You make any decisions yet, J jaws7777 ??

You can try soaking any new food you'd like to try in hot water w/ some food that you already got them eating - it "scents" the new food to make it smell similar to the old food, and the hot water penetrates and absorbs faster and more thoroughly whenever you reconstitute dry foods. My Moray eels shunned freeze-dried Krill, but after soaking it in just plain water to soften it up, they smash it every time now Vettech716 Vettech716

Also, do you have any questions about the "quote/reply" system I could perhaps help with? I notice you had a little trouble on the last one :)
