German Blue Ram, Fin base tumor/ lump ID?

Hello Everyone,

I have a suspect fish in my small 20 L tank right now.
She is a formerly very healthy 1-2 year old GBR.
Planted Tank, planted substrate, RO water. Levels well in hand if only slightly acidic
3 Corys
4 Rummy nose
6 Cardinals
1 GBR

Recently noticed a growing lump right at the base of her left pectoral fin. Has been continuing to get larger for the past 2 weeks. My research online has mostly come up empty.

I have treated the tank as a preventative with Melafix, Pimafix, and Salt with no change.

The Rummys are still healthy with full color so I know the water is good. And she doesn't seem distressed by it.

Any ideas? I dont want to remove her to QT until i have an ID/ plan of action?

would not expect pima or melafix to make a difference for most things. Could be a tumor or maybe an abscess

I didnt really expect the Mela/pima to do anything but rule out some simple potential causes. Any treatment paths to recommend ? I dont really know what else to do other QT and general cure or just let it go and do nothing?

if you have a qt I would pull her out and treat her in there. Best case it is an abscess so I would go ahead and treat for infection.

More Growth with rod like protrusions now. This was right before Qt. Since cuase is unknown any have a recommendation on the right kind of meds? Does it seem to be bacterial, some kind of buried parasite?

It kooks like a tumor most likely. Granulation tissue from a wound or a foreign body is also possible. Quarantine should not be necessary, I would watch and see if it is getting larger, and if so, remove it. Good luck.

Here are 2 slightly better ones, I'm leaning towards tumor. The spikes are new as of this week. Still eating if hiding a little bit more than usual.
