Would a 12-15 inch tank height be a issue for a ray grow out ?

Would a 12-15 inch tank height be a issue for a ray grow out ? I am thinking about getting one of those display frag tanks that are often seen in pet stores dimensions 96x48x 12-16 inches for a ray pup grow out or if I ever need to separate a future ray from my main tank. Does anyone see a issue with this?

Yes being that low I would want a euro brace on the tank personally to keep the pups or other rays in the tank. I know what your thinking you can build it with 2 sheets of glass that way but personally I would buy the third sheet and make it 24" tall with a euro brace

I have a 9.5 foot X 4 foot 13 inch high tank that I keep several breeding adult rays in. While they would do better in a taller tank they do fine in mine. But as mentioned quite often the euro bracing is the only thing that keeps them off the floor !

I dont think it would be an issue. The only thing that sucks is this size tank limits the type of fish you can keep. If you are growing it out why not go for 6x3x2 about the same gallons and you can use it as a grow out for other fish as well.

I like the 8x4 footprint... It would be a grow out just for stings I have 3 90 gallons dedicated to grow out discus. My last tank was a 6x3x2.5 and I just feel like trying something different.
