Clown Loach Toxic???

I think I really messed up. I put a 2" clown loach in with my 4" Tigrinus Cat to eat any left over scraps. The Tigrinus ate the loach, and now it's dead. Did I make a rookie mistake?

Clown loaches have a really sharp spine by their eyes. I bet you now know why your Tigrinis died.

Sorry for your loss but it's far from rare it's uncommon but still sorry for your loss

That's quite an expensive mistake, good thing it's pretty easy find another one.

Sorry for your loss, that's a costly mistake, we all made some, but this one must feel like a heartbreak.

Pantodons, Loaches, Plecos and other L numbers are really bad tankmates if there is even a slight chance they could get eaten. Those get stuck and choke your fishes.

We've all made mistakes. And many others have made this same mistake with clown loaches, just sucks cuz two fish are sacrificed. But, these two species can be safety kept together, just make sure the clown loaches much larger. It also helps to not feed your tig live food as you grow it out. I used to spot feed my tig massivore pellets at one corner of the tank. I've kept 6"-8" loaches with my 22" Tigrinus without any problems.
