Just picked this up off of someone on craigslist, very nice people. The stand has some water damage as seen in the photos. What are you opinions on replacing the top piece of wood on the stand?
Unless its glued and screwed together it should be easy to do...

Its a standard 75 gallon. I had to carry it up two flights of stairs by myself, so I have to inspect for leaks later.

If aquarium leaks I suggest resealing it, as for the stand if made of wood and you are handy that could be braced or build one. Did seller mention it leaking?

Tank doesnt leak accordimg to seller. I said it might beacause me moving it up some stairs by myself.
Ok, for bracing would just framing the inside with 2x4s be good?

Yes you could probably do something but If your going to do that I would strongly suggest just building a new stand. It's really easy to whip a frame together using the design explained by Joey in the kingofdiy youtube videos. Not even exaggerating I build a stand using that method for a 20 long in 30 mins the other night its just a bare frame but is strong enough to support hundred of pounds more than it's being used for.

I used the same exact plan to build this stand for a 55 but wrapped it and finished it with trim and paint. It's nicer than any stand you could buy for less than $500-$600 I bet. This stand took about 4 hours to build and paint.

Looks like the old "Light Granite" Oceanic tanks. We used to have 2 -110 gallon, a 75 gallon, and a 90 gallon aquarium in that color. Those tanks were HEAVY.
I had a 72 gallon Oceanic bowfront I sold a few months back which was also very heavy and had thick glass. They were good tanks and I kind of regret selling mine but a 72 gallon bowfront didn't fit any of my stocking plans. Sorry for the thread derail.
