You GOTTA watch this! Owl tested directly against a pigeon and a falcon. Owl's flight is indeed as silent as it gets, in a large part because of its super soft feathers and the careful movement, an analog of a cat stoking a prey and moving slowly, extremely carefully, and completely silently:
