Thanks guys. I think I will go for it. I have 5 of these female Rio hondo carpintis. Might as well use them fore something. Just thought the outcome might be real poor quality RTs.

There will be poor quality ones but there may be also absolute BEAUTIES! Never know till you try. Then get the best out of the batch and line breed!

If I was to start breed good red texas , I would not do mam/parrot/srm/RQ.

but this X you got is what I would do.

well I took the Midas out of my 375gal Ampilopus community tank and put him and the female carpintis in a 55. So far so good. She's got a couple nice pvc hiding spots if he gets ruff. But so far he has just ignored her.
