Hello,

i like to know a little more about the different kinds of subspecies of Lates Niloticus. Right now there are niloticus zaire (from kongo) and niloticus nigeria available, with the zaire ones being much more expensive.

I sometimes read about L. Niloticus which are supposed to stay smaller and keep their beautifil pattern. But as a sceptical person, this just sounds way to good to be true. Of course not every Niloticus will grow to weight 100kg, but i highly doubt that any subspecies is so much smaller, that it makes an actual difference.

Greetings

It's the one from Congo. The one I had kept it's pattern much longer than my "regular" one and seemed to grow slower as well (not that that has to mean anything in the end).
