On July 17th i bought 5 guianacara stergiosi (i think?) from my lfs. By August 10th a pair laid some eggs, i was very surprised because they were 2-2.5". Those eggs got eaten and on August 16th or maybe earlier a second batch was laid and today they are free swimming. Probably about 60-100. maybe? I have never raised any fry before. The mother is protecting them very well, but do i have to remove them? or could they possibly be raised out with the group of 5 guianacara and a pair of BN plecos? How long after becoming free swimming do i have to feed them?
1st pic is the group a few days after i bought them. 2nd pic is where they breed... inside the little tunnel in the left corner on the top of the tunnel. 3rd and fouth is the mother with some of the fry.. these guys are real hard to get a picture of they are always moving! The male seems to be taking no part in the breeding process at all... looks like he's chasing a new booty.
