why my tem. color faded? please help

It could be due to stress. I have to agree that bass will do a million times better in groups. You are on the right track changing the background back to black. What is your water quality like? Ph ammonia, nitrates. I'm sure your parameters are fine and it probably has to do with being the only cichla in the tank

sorry, i havent have time to respone late. i think you are right. from background, to a drift wood, and water also just himself in the tank; all that have to do with its color
