I 2nd melanura. Black belt is completely different from melanura. Just Google Image search the 2 and you'll see . Still an awesome fish, enjoy!

They are quite easy to tell apart.
Blackbelt juveniles show vertical barring eventually these will for one thick black vertical bar,hence the name black belt.
Melanura will have a horizontal both along the lateral line starting from the caudle area as seen on your pictured juvenile.

But friends this cichlids have been showing some vertical bar
when at LFS clearly

Yes. Melanura can show bars when stressed but this is not their normal appearance when settled and relaxed.
Blackbelts will typically have a white background as apposed to the yellow background colour of melanura.
