Yesterday I noticed this spot on the tail of my eel. Am thinking it could be from the heater. Any ideas, it's currently in a 55g grow out with a 11 inch polypterus endlicheri. The eel is 14 inches.

make a cover for the heater, and maybe add a little salt to the tank, it looks like either heater burn or maybe a nip from the poly. It should heal fine in a week or so.
The poly and the eel seem to get along really good. I usually do two 50% water changes a week I'll up it to two 75% water changes.
ya I don't see a reason to worry with that. Keep the water pristine and you should be good. Maybe have some paraguard on standby just in case a secondary infection arises but I don't think it will.
