I was really missing my old black nasty pairs so I grabbed a group of juvies. Also decided to grab something I never has so I grabbed istlanums. Ill see what the future holds.

Very nice little guys, especially the istlanum, one of my favorite fish i've ever owned. They grow slow as hell, but tons of attitude even at that size.

What do you do to successfully raise the Haitiensis? High temperature and plenty of hiding spots with limited food?

Yea I like these guys a lot the nations are my second favorite cichlid behind dovii. I'm liking the istlanum a lot so far, they seem to be growing good so ill see how that goes.

I don't do anything special and I definitely don't limit food. I have had 3 pairs in the past biggest was a 14-15 inch male with a 10-11 inch female. These little guys are pigging out on live blackworms daily and live brine shrimp a couple days a week.
