Do you notice any gold coloration?

Yes, the gold coloration is there. I use my old Samsung note 3 camera. So I just take pictures but also when I take him out to measure the size. You will see it greatly. Being that I moved him to a dark gravel tank he has been a dark tint.

You can view the difference in colors in the pictures I posted on the first page also. You will see the gold coloration in the bag when I received him

He tried to bite me thru the glass. He holds his own even against the other big midas I have.i separated him to power feed him good food and make sure he eats everything I put on his side.
