Red cornetfish (Fistularia petimba) caught off Hawaii.

Clean it? That'd be going home in to a big stock bin until I make a tank big enough for it XD.

Wonder what they caught that on though? Seems like most saltwater gear would be so large that it wouldn't even fit in the mouth of a fish like that.

Most species of cornets and trumpets are actually a pretty common catch. They are caught on damashis(jigging shrimp flies), shorecasting with small lures like curly tail grubs. You even nail them livebaiting smaller fish. They are a pretty aggressive ambush predator

We call those flutemouths in Australia, hook them occasionally as accidental by catch when jigging metal jigs in 50 - 100 metres of water.
