It looked a lot less strange when I left this morning... I pointed a fan at it overnight and mopped up assent standing water. Just hoping I don't come back on Sunday to a broken tank... I've marked on the water level currently and I'll see what it's like on Sunday, and go from there...

It's a Hagen fluval marina 160, about 6-8 months old, was bought off the shelf, along with the cabinet

Right... just been underneath... there is paper stuck to the tank... it is peeling off and damp on the end with the stripes (the stripes being the glue from the paper) so... could it be a leak? Or what? My water levels have been pretty constant so I'm not certain on the leak hypothesis... any ideas?

This is definitely worrying... hope I don't need a new tank... I'll take about 50% out if I can, plus I've got people coming in to look after the hamster.

It's also only in that one corner... it stops abruptly along that edge about half way and no sign in the rest of the tank

Tanks at 24, so a few degrees warmer than the room, no sump. Is 160l glass tank if that helps, I increased the temp a few days ago from about 21 (subtropical channa tank)...

There's no foam under the tank I don't think though, as is on the cabinet that it was designed for . I recently moved and only set it up here last week though. So it isn't the glass cracking or anything?

Any idea what this could be? Wasn't like it this morning I don't think... definitely wasn't like it yesterday...

I accidentally bred my pair of peppereds... literally completely unintentional... I got a phone call saying there was a half cm baby cory in the tank...

You obviously know exactly what my water was like from thousands of miles away... Bear in mind, this is not some idiotic minnow who's only thought is food, rather this is an intelligent animal who needs stimulation. Plus, snakeheads often die after large water changes plus can survive terrible...

I didn't think so... My parameters were 0,0,5 with ph 7.2... I think that's pretty spot on.... And that was before my water change... Hence why I was thinking it could have been the fact no one was around etc, given he begs really frequently and moves around a lot when I'm here. I know that...

Despite the fact I do 40% weekly and the parameters were perfect?

Ok I'm glad other people have noticed it before and that I'm not going mad :) and the water was pretty good anyway (nitrates stick at about 5) but guess a 100% change will have helped it He really is eating like a pig again, which is good as he was practically starving himself.

Meant to add, he had lost his colors a lot the last few weeks, but since yesterday, they are really starting to come up - showing he's less stressed
