Thanks. Measured when I first got them a month ago, male was 8" and female 5". Mines has the dark bars pretty much all the time, even when not breeding. That's one reason I really like these guys. They're a nice contrast to my "red isletas" who hardly ever shows any barrings at all.

Very nice. Used to have a male midas that's kept his black markings for 2-3 yrs and was 12"+ before it was completely orange.

Collect bmx bikes. Currently sitting at about a dozen ( GT, Haro, Mongoose, and Schwinn) but will eventually sell most off and keep just 3-4. Just started hitting the gym. Feels great physically aand mentally after work outs.

Definitely look more Midas like you said. Most stores will list they're Amphilophus as Red Devils, guess the name RD hust sells better.
