My male does the same thing. He will continue to shove her back to guard them even after they hatch up until they are free swimming. He will then start pushing her back into their "spot" when he thinks it's time to spawn again about a month after the last spawn.
I have a pair of Koi Angels I’ve been working with. This is the second spawn from them and definitely an interesting location.
1st spawn was eaten by sources unknown. This time they are alone. We shall see..
His first few weeks in an aquarium were touch and go. I also had to put an extra set of glass tops on his tank to keep him in it.
I have been doing 70%+ water changes two - three times a week on his tank since I got him home and his progress has been remarkable to watch.
Thank you for the...
This is my boy Chunk. He is a backyard pond gone wrong rescue I picked up last November. Working through some Hole in Head issues but otherwise he is one big puppy dog. He lives with some babies from my pair of Midevils in a 90. He is looking considerably better compared to the day I brought...
Gold Saum are doing good & the fry are growing nicely. They have no discipline though compared to the Midevils in the tanks around them and don’t seem nearly as dependent on the parents.
Moved the majority of Gen 2 into a grow out tank. Left about 20 with Mom and Dad to try and hold off the next spawn some. Dads getting a bumpy head again already though and I don’t think it will be but a couple more weeks
As am I. I was just looking over the current stock list for some new projects and had no idea it had changed hands.
Best of luck Kevin and I will be ordering as soon as I reorganize
Showing some growth. These fry are spotted brown and look nothing like the Midevils fry. Smaller from the first day as well with slower growth rate so far.
