Yeah, I think one thing that would be really helping them would be the rate at which oxygen would be diffusing into the water. But what about accumulation of waste? I think if a large fish was left in a proportionally equal amount of water they would certainly die.

With my Midas, I dont really think he needs a cave. He's by himself in a 75G and isnt afraid of people. If people go near the tank he does the patrol thing where they flair up and "pace" around the tank.

Im using pre mixed LFS water, not sure what they use but it must be good, they have heaps of different corals. And yeah I need to get some more flow in there definately. I wanted to get some of those koralina things but I cant find any where I live. Probably get 2 power heads today.

Whats the difference between him using a skimmer and chucking a bag of purigen in his HOB? Couldn't he get away with a clown, his HOB with purigen and some matrix, a shallow sand bed and water? Surely theres no need to over complicate?
