Thanks for your input, they are about the same size, however, the Severum is a little bit older than the Vieja. i have put the Severum in a 200 gallon tank, I just didn't suspect the Severum to be that aggressive...

I have been raising all the cichlids in my signature block starting from 1" to 2", however, they are now at 3" to 4", my Severum, cichlid whom I thought was fairly peaceful, chases the 2 Synspilum (Vieja Melanura), I though the Vieja, would be more aggressive then the Severum, hmmm... Am I wrong...

Very nice looking Grammodes, one of my favorite cichlids, the only thing is you can't put another cichlid in the tank with them, they are very aggressive...

I have a 360 gallon tank, I am raising 2 Hoplarchus Psittacus, 2 Hypselecara Temporalis, and Mesoheros Gephyrus all are about 3", will this work? Would this be too many fish, it is working now because they a young, but I am thinking the Mesoheros Gephyrus when adult maybe too aggressive, I don't...

Is it beauty? Is it aggression? Is it size? Is it what they eat, how they eat? Is it living in fast or slow water movement? Is it just the landscape/aquascape? Is it how they are built? Can we look at the two and pick out what is the difference?

thanks for all advice giving, it is really appreciated, I really like Grammodes, but I don't want to dedicate a 125 tank for 1 cichlid, I don't think Grammodes will to active for visitors to be attracted to.... I am now thinking of maybe a Hoplarchus psittacus (True Parrot) Cichlid in a 125...
