    Aussie natives Stocking.

They wont get along. The only time I have heard of them tolerating each other is in high density aquaculture situations and when they are all kept graded at the same size.

    DIY 220g(830L) Tank Stand

Funny story on the lights! I purchased the light from someone and had to have it shipped from Queensland to Victoria. I waited a week or so and it never turned up(I was having it delivered to my work place address). I contacted the sender and she confirmed it had been sent and that I should...

    DIY 220g(830L) Tank Stand

Yep that stand is rock solid, I'm more concerned about the floor and house stumps giving way before the stand does! I dont know what happened to the pics, they must have changed the gallery hosting or something? I havent been on here for a while, I'll have a rummage around and see if I can...

PH monitoring and loggin to PC?

Cost effective? Depends how much your fish is worth to you? I've spent a few thousand on the tank and other life support just for this one fish - to have it all fail because I do not have enough time to manually test and monitor water parameters when for an extra few hundred I could have it all...

PH monitoring and loggin to PC?

I do bi-weekly water changes on my tanks but recently my cod tank almost crashed because I let the PH wander too high. I live by myself and and lately have been very busy with work and other demanding responsibilities, so its hard to monitor my tank water parameters as closely as I would like...

PH monitoring and loggin to PC?

I'm looking for recommendations for a PH monitor that can either be connected to a computer LAN or via an RS232 serial connection to a PC for logging PH water parameters? Had anybody had any experience in this area? Something reasonably priced preferrably.

Murray Cod update - getting bigger!

Long time since I've posted! I took a couple of dodgy pics I last night with my camera phone. They dont really do him justice - I estimate he's around 26" long now. Bigger tank will be required very soon.

    Murray cod

Thought I'd revive this thread with a little bit of video footage of my MC I took yesterday. I estimate he's at about 14inches long at the moment. Not all that active during the day but he knows its feeding time when the lights go out and he soon starts moving then! I usually drop slices of...

    DIY 220g(830L) Tank Stand

Well I managed to take some crappy video footage of the tank as it stands at the moment (90% finished) and my MC. First one is MC and bit of the interior of the tank(MC is about 14inches currently and growing fast): MC hanging out This one shows more of the exterior of the tank - and...

    DIY 220g(830L) Tank Stand

..errr yeah - about that, there is only one problem, its still not finished :( Well its finished as far as its all up and running - but I have not finished of the top border and lighting set-up how I want it just yet :shakehead  Work got very busy and racing season started...

    DIY 220g(830L) Tank Stand

Because the pump I have is able to pump more than my overflows can handle, I added that extra hose and valve as a return. So instead of simply adding a valve after the pump to restrict the flow, this allows some water to be diverted back into the sump and the pumps output is not restricted...
