Owner of Shark aquarium NJ just tried to fight me..?

Well, there are usually at least 2 sides to every story, and mine will be quite brief. I DID lost my temper when this young man wanted to see the 2 polpyterus I had told him were in stock, when he called earlier. He and his friend had already spent a significant amount of time looking at each...

To Tig or not to Tig

Small tigs (3-4") are running this month out of Peru. If you really want one, why not buy one (or two), and set up a community tank and grow it out. Obviously as it grows, you WILL be adding larger tanks mates, as it out grows/eats its smaller friends. g

Small tigs 3-4" are running out of Peru this month. If you really want a tig, why not start a community, get a small one (or two) and grow it up. As it grows, you will obviously have to change its tank mates (or put in larger ones as he eats the smaller ones). g

    i have eggs

I would set up a small, well filtered tank and if/when they spawn again, immediately siphon out some (NOT ALL!) of the eggs, and transfer into the smaller, well filtered (sponge filtration is probably best) tank. Then add a significant quantity of methylene blue to stop the eggs from fungusing...

Does anyone keep a large shoal of mixed pygos?

Makes a very active shoal, much more than even dynamic than a non-mixed. My best was wild RB's, with a couplegold spilo'sand sanchezi from Peru. Just have more pygos than the serra's and the aggression can be kept under ontrol. g

What is this in my pirahna tank?

They are VERY cool fish, particularly if you can observe their shoaling behavior. g

    New pike?

It's interesting your pics show that dorsal spot. As many times as I looked at my pics, I was squinting for dorsal spots, and did not see any. My eye says it is close to the C. reticulatus (I think) you have on your site? g

    New pike?

Near Iquitos Peru. I have been importing fish from this area for over 30 years, and I have never seen anything like it from this area. g
