    Dogfish...need some help here.

Lol hospitalised? We call them bluebottles here and quite often get hundreds of them all over the beaches when the wind is right. Ive seen little kids cry from it but even plenty of them can tough it out and continue on swimming 10 mins later. Geez you guys must be wimpy over that side of the...

    Questions about Pet Sharks

Few problems straight up. For starters a paroon is just a catfish. No marine shark should really ever be fed goldfish though on occasion as a treat (more for you then it) it wont be the end of the world. To own a marine shark you really need experience with salt water tanks. But too...

The true size of Arapaima gigas

I cant believe this stupid argument as gone on as long as it has. Ofcourse there could be or has been bigger Giga's out there. As has been said fish basically grow there whole lives. I dont care about the semantics of they slow down ect. Big deal, fact is they keep growing. Alot of these...

    AARTC gowth rate??...

Ide say you all have albino Mystus nemurus. Unless some of you have any pics i have never seen an AARTC, any albino Asian ive seen is a nemurus. Which also explains the slow growth rate as they max out at about 14". Ive had one for 3 years in a 180 and hes about 13". When i got him he was...

    My tank glows!

Sorry for the trouble mods. Didnt realise joking about the d word was that big a deal. Maybe if something was done about all the T words we wouldnt police it ourselves. And again i agree, the internet shouldnt be the only thing considered but do you really realise how much information is on...

    My tank glows!

I totally agree on the theories of underwater organisms. I was mainly arguing about the sand on the beach glowing. But i still have never seen/heard of this happening in a tank other then worms that where easily visible to the naked eye. Its too hard to culture pretty much any sort of plankton...

    My tank glows!

Put a pic up and ppl might be more helpfull. Otherwise there isnt an answer to give as your tank would be a first in the world. There simply isnt glowing sand anywhere. So again you sure you cant see some sort of worms on the sand glowing? Or some glowing coral ect hidden begind the rocks making...

    My tank glows!

Ummm since when did sand glow? While its highly possible i just have never seen it, and if there really is glowing sand im sure there hundreds of pics all over the net you guys can put up (yet i found none), i live on the beach in Aus and have seen beaches in other parts of the world including...

    boyant driftwood

You sure you tried searching?? Im guessing the wood you picked up was along the edges of the water mainly out of it? If yes and they where fairly dry when you got them you will have to keep them in water for a few days untill they become waterlogged and sink. Any search on floating driftwood...

    Sugar Gliders!?!?

Some serious generalizations there. So would you say lions bred in captivity are domestic animals?? That was just a stupid comment to make. It take hundreds of generations before animals can truly be considered "domestic". Its also fairly wrong to consider them a common alternative to cats and...

    yellowhead moray eel tank mates?

Anything that cant poison your tank (so ide stay away from puffers) and is big enough not to get eaten is worth trying. Stay away from triggers though as they like to nip at eels tails.

    Grouper/trigger problem

No idea where the info is but your not finding anything because im guessing what you have is a sixline soapfish. Never heard of a sixline grouper. Is it black with white horizontal stripes? If so its the soapfish. Its actually poisonous too so if the trigger toughens up one day and attacks it...

RARE : ID this albino cat

Its Mystus Nemurus. Thats what everyone commonly calls albino Red tails except ive never seen an albino Asian redtail let alone a bunch of them. Nemurus are farmed in Asia and its easy to get albino's.

    jardini in aus

Kinda old thread but if you havent found one yet send me a PM and i can help you out. $200 is abit steep but 80-100 is fairly normal. Most of the big wholesalers dont sell them for under $50. And yes Americans we get it you can get stuff cheaper. No idea what the relevance of your prices are...

    convicts for feeders-growth rate

Just use guppies or swords. Convicts are too smart for feeders. Unless you have an empty tank they will just quickly find somewhere to hide on the bottom. Im not saying they wont catch some but if there a few decent hiding spots they probably wont catch them all.

Start a thread crying about koi getting eaten then come out saying your going to breed your own feeders how does that work? All it comes down too is he can do what he wants. It may be cruel it may be wrong but its up to him what happens. Everything we do with "pets" can be taken as cruel one...

LOL. I agree he didnt really need to feed it that but what you said is being abit hypocritical. Who are you to say a Koi's life is more valuable then a feeder goldfish?? If your morals say its ok to feed feeder goldfish then its perfectly ok for him to feed whatever kind of fish he likes to his P's.

    giant catfish? (I mean GIANT.)

FAKE. Even its sizes are a joke. 101" or whatever it said is only like 9' That fish looks waaaaaay bigger then that. Its funny what the media will run with.

yeah basically its gotta be on its own or with other tough fish your not too worried about losing. Fairly annoying fish to keep alone too considering it will need atleast say a 400g to itself. I get confused with all the standard US sizes but atleast a 8x3wx2 tank.
