Pictures of your fish wanted (Please Provide Permission)

I have a picture of an African debauwii, do you want it? I saw you didn't havea picture of one yet on the website... It's not the best but it could make a placeholder until a better one comes. I don't have this fish anymore though... Also have a ghost shrimp picture... I give you permission...

I'm taking care of what everyone else wants to kill... Video of the 5gal nano-reef!

Why would anyone want to kill the striped hermits??! Those are cool. Cool video. I also liked the song. What is it called... PS: the anemones are pretty also. People don't like these anemones because they kill fish? Too bad....

Debunked: CO2-Myth --- See tanks without carbon dioxide fertilization

Check out my great accomplishments in the field of aquascaping without CO2~! Both are unheated. 40 GALLON MINERALIZED TOPSOIL TANK! Huge limnophila forest, some dwarf saggitaria carpet starting to spread... 10 GALLON E.I. DOSING I haven't really been aquascaping so much recently, but look...

    That is a good idea.

    duckweed?

Lemna trisulca is prettier than Lemna minor. And you can "aquascape" it because it is 3D and lives underwater. Make mounds and clouds etc... They stay linked together so you can pull out huge masses rather than having to swish around a net OR siphon it. It's also pretty easy to grow.

What are those little worm things in my tank.

Just because a critter is able to dwell in your aquarium doesn't mean it's time to eradicate it. Just my two cents. I have copepods in my tanks, they are cute, like mickey mouse's head.

What is your least favorite fish?

I really don't like rams. People always shove them into a planted tank because they are colorful, but they seem lame to me for some reason. I have never owned one but their face looks lame and they're like the size of a bumblebee... i guess I don't have a good reason to hate them but I'll...

Is your tank overstocked, are you setting up a tank, check this out everybody!

both my 35 and 70 are ridiculously overstocked... but apparently I need more white clouds than I thought in my ten gallon... Allegedly 13 odessa barbs in 35 gal is too many. I kind of agree...

    How mean are Jack Dempseys?

If he chases them around, I can switch him back. The only plant I have in the 70 is an onion plant. If he uproots it, I'll relocate the onion or sell it. But the tinfoil barbs don't touch it, and they are plant destroyers. Even so, if he chases the barbs a little, they will get a bit of...

    How mean are Jack Dempseys?

Sooo I ended up receiving a Jack Dempsey and I don't really want it that bad but i'm keeping him... for now... in a 35 gallon tank. What I really wanted was for my 35 to be a mineralized topsoil planted tank. But before I had the topsoil done, someone foiled my plans with a JACK DEMPSEY...

questions on onion plants (mainly lighting)

I have a fixture that says "3 x 21 watt T5" but the bulbs say "39 watt T5" on my 65 gallon tall tank. So I either have 1 wpg or almost 2 wpg, of T5 daylight tubes. You have woefully inadequate lighting, if you doubled it, you might be able to grow onion plant. However, I have a 27 inch tall...

PHOTOS of Plants in the wild! (56K)

Dudeman, I looked at that link and it was quite interesting. It is a shame that he collected so many crypt flower buds and they all failed to flower in captivity... I've posted these photos before once, but I feel I should do it again! Callitriche sp. with Leafy pondweed and Chara sp. in the...

    aquascaping?

Oh you don't have driftwood yet? Well... MOSS should be avaliable at an LFS somewhere. If not, you can get your moss of choice on Ebay or aquabid. Sometimes, you can find a piece of driftwood with moss already on it on ebay or aquabid. Willow moss is common in streams and such, you might be...

PHOTOS of Plants in the wild! (56K)

There's a lot of floating plants in your area. Up here, there is duckweed, star duckweed are the only ones I've found, except tiny bits of riccia. I don't think riccia survives well here because there is usually one piece. It probably is brought up by ducks every year, and dies in the winter...
