    Monster fish bites!!

I have a tendency to want to hand feed all of the fish at my work, this has lead to me getting nailed by the 3.5 ft silver aro, the 3 ft rtc, and some of our large red belly piranha in our display tanks. Luckily I haven't been bitten by any of our cat sharks, cali rays, or morays yet, but...

ID and sex my cichlid pls

This. I would say red devil due to the elongated mouth, but unless you got him from a reputable breeder its probably a hybrid between the two. Many of the red devils/midas in the fish trade are hybrids to some degree. Never the less he is a nice looking fish. Oh and in order to determine the...

    Blue-Green Algae Removal?

Cyanobacteria is photosynthetic. Thus they use light to produce energy, despite how intense it is. I don't understand the rejection of lighting being the issue when its one of key requirements needed for its growth. *After seeing goose's post. I'd be hesitant to hydrogen peroxide, since he said...

    Blue-Green Algae Removal?

The chinese algae eaters would most likely eat the convict eggs. Algae occurs for mainly two reasons: 1. Excess nutrients and phosphates from uneaten food. 2. From leaving the lights on for long periods. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

Thats a good stock of fish, what is the tank size they are in? And are you able to test the water quality and give us the readings? It'll give us a better understanding of what could be the culprit. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

    cichlids and toys

I've always had success with ping pong balls, kinda of the same idea with the bobber. My oscar would bounce it around the surface of the water.

    Teius teyou

I had to use a search engine to find out what they were, but only found that the males have amazing colors. The only advice I can offer is maybe trying over on the forum www.tegutalk.com/index.php too. Maybe someone over there can give you some info.

Update on my Arg b/w Tegu

She just came out of hibernation a week ago, so I got out the camera and took some pictures of her while she was free roaming around my bedroom. I measured her and she is now 23" including her tail. Here is my old thread with pictures of her as a hatchling and when she was older...

    columbian tegu advice

While cod liver oil is a very good suppliment to feed to your tegu, it doesn't contain any protein itself. Cod liver oil is very high in vitamin A, vitamin D, and rich in omega-3's.

    columbian tegu advice

If size is the issue why not opt for a blue tegu? They have a similar disposition and tameness of a black and white, but stay at a smaller size. I personally think this would be your best option. Good luck convincing your parents, it took awhile, but my parents came around to the idea of letting...

    Tegu feeding.

My tegu isn't an adult yet, but I feed pretty much everything Toby listed except I use tilapia fillets instead of the live cichlids, since I don't have access to readily home bred ones. For fruits, I've fed blue berries, black berries, grapes, tomatoes, papaya, and pineapple. She likes her...
