Maybe I will just make this into the Rainbow Darter/Least Darter/Blue Fin Killifish tank. These Darters are cool little fish. Fun to watch eat.

hmm... maybe I will re-think the Dollar sunfish then. Do you think that an adult Dollar could eat an adult Rainbow?

10 Rainbow Darters arrived safe and sound, even after being miss delivered. I am borrowing a nice camera tomorrow so pics will be uploaded then.

1.5 year update. The original fixture is still kicking butt and I like it so much that I got another one. I highly recommend them! The fixture itself gets really warm but so far nothing badly has happened. I need to replace these bulbs though, going on 1 year with the new ones.

Sand it is then! Later today I will add the sand to the tank and then try and locate the rocks that i am looking for for this tank... I for see a trip to home depot in my near future... Thanks for the input!!!

Then maybe what I will do is order the Darters first and then wait till they get almost full grown, and then order the Dollar Sunfish. The tank is all ready. I am just debating on wether to use the Sand that I have or to go out and get some "Special Kitty" brand cat litter for substrates...

I plan on having varying sizes of river rocks in this tank on top of a sand substrate. I think that I will start with 8 Dollar Sunfish and 8 Rainbow Darters. I emailed the people from the website I am ordering from and they recommended that number.

I plan on having the current go from left to right. So, the output of my Cascade 1000 and a powerhead will be put in place. What kind/size of a power head do you all recommend? Also, how many of each fish should I start out with? Tank size is a 75 gallon as mentioned earlier.

I think that you might be doing too many water changes. I had a pair in a 55 gallon and I did weekly water changes because I thought that it would make them breed better. In fact it stressed them out to the point of not breeding, but they showed signs of breeding just like yours do. So one...
