I've had him for 8 years, so he's at least that and being 4" when I got him, id guess 10?.....I hear you though. No, not a 20 year old fish, very few and far between. Old for "most" fish keepers.

I guess old is relative, I've had him 8 years now. Not sure how old he was when they were imported, I want to say they were 4" long or so. Not sure about growth rates in the wild but my guess would be that they were at least a couple years old when imported. Thanks.

What would your guess be? Not hard to figure out.

Nice, keep the updates coming. Massive tank and plenty of room, looks very healthy. Imagine that fish in 10 years in that tank, completely different looking fish. I've seen multiple spawning pairs in a massive public aquarium (Chattanooga TN). IMO most Dovii aggression is not having enough space...

There is no way to know for sure know unless you bought it from reputable source and even then who really knows.

I have a Nicaraguan Male and Female Dovii for sale. They both came from Dan @ COA, different orders. Not sure if they are related, I think he has two different breeding pairs. They are not a pair, I have not tried to pair them up. Male is ≈ 6" Female ≈ 8" Male $50 Female $50

These two had some wigglers in the video above, a few days later they are out swimming around.

Thanks, I've had him since he was a fry. I think it's been 12 years now but would need to dig it up to be sure.
