    Seller of native fishes?

In all fairness...this section is titled North American Native Fish. So sure, that would include Canada and Mexico...but the rest...not so much. I am interested in the same original question though...USA sellers/breeders of native fish? Particularly interested in getting a large school of...

Lighting for 48x24x24 Low Tech (medium/low light plants)

Are the dark areas because the light is blocked by those blocks the lights are sitting on? Because honestly...the light throw on that tank looks pretty bad. I've been looking at this light as well...a single 16" for a 24" x 18" tank and I have my reservations about whether I'll get complete...

    Who has the largest congicus

How old are these monsters when they pass? I'd hate like hell to raise one from a few inches to a monster like that only to have it die in a couple years. I always thought polypterus were pretty long lived fish.

    Exodons

Not in MD but I bought mine at Petsmart. They carry them from time to time.

Thinking about RBP's, just a couple questions...

Nice...good luck with that. So yeah, 4 six inch fish should be ok in a 75g tank, well filtered. I'm excited. Just need to start collecting the equipment and hopefully Petco will have a $1/gallon sale this spring/summer so I can get a couple more 20L's for my shrimp.

Thinking about RBP's, just a couple questions...

Cool. I thought they'd grow out faster than that but that's good news that they can take years...by the time I'm ready for them it will be late summer, so that will give me some good time before I have to upgrade the tank.

Thinking about RBP's, just a couple questions...

Thanks again for the additional info. So what would be considered lower temps? Right now the tank is kept in the mid 70's for the shrimp. I wish I could do a larger shoal of small fish but I know for a fact that I won't be able to upgrade before the fish needed re-homed. I am looking at 2-3...

Thinking about RBP's, just a couple questions...

Thanks. I know a lot of smaller shoaling fish it's recommended to keep them in odd numbers even though you'll inevitably have deaths which could make the numbers even. Just wasn't sure if RBP's fell under that "rule".

Thinking about RBP's, just a couple questions...

I've always admired them, now I am thinking about getting some. I have a 75g tank. Right now it's full of shrimp. I'll be moving the shrimp out and into another tank. Filtration will be handled by a couple canisters and a large HOB (AC 110) so that should be covered. My question is, what's the...

1 RBP tank size and will it be lonley?

A single would not be cool but they are small fish, maxing out around 3-4" or so, if even that big. You can get a nice school of them in a 40-55g tank. I think they are a nice looking fish. They are scale eaters though so you really can't keep other fish with them as in my experience they will...

anyone here with a senegal over 12 inches?

My standard is about 9", maybe 10 if he stretches. My albino is around 7 or 8".

    Another Substrate Q

I would think that bleach would do the trick. Or boiling it. Or even both.

    Tank size?

I have 2 in my 75g and could easily have 2 or even 3 more without room issues.

    Tank size?

The 40 breeder would not be terrible but a 75 would be wonderful. Stay away from the 55 as it is pretty shallow at only 12" from front to back.

Might be taking down the tank...

Yeah, free as long as they go to a good home. If you are interested please tell me about your setup and tank mates? The pleco is about 8". I'll try to get some decent shots up tonight sometime.

Might be taking down the tank...

No, Jefferson Co. is not too bad at all. Maybe we could meet in Winchester or something if Moonchild ends up not taking them. I also need a home for two nice Suncats, a convict cichlid and a common pleco if you or anyone is interested in them.

Might be taking down the tank...

2nd day air is $29 and will take 2 days and will be delivered by end of the day. Then there is a 1 day air that is $55 and $60. The cheaper one guarantees by end of the day delivery and the more expensive one guarantees by 10:30am the day of delivery. Then of course for $98 you can have it by...

Might be taking down the tank...

Let me know Moon if you are interested and I will check in to shipping. There is a LFS that ships fish so I would probably get them to help with the packaging.
