I got him from Hidden Reef when he was about an inch. One of the employees had the parents and brought a batch in. Just got lucky.

I just had to load up some pictures for the marketplace so I figured Id post a couple pictures of the big dog. Id say he's pushing 15 in. now. He's kind of mellowed out, sharing a tank with some much smaller tank mates, and not really concerned about them. At least for now I guess.

Yeah, I think female too, but it looks like a bruiser. It’s still super early to guess, but I’d bet $5 it’s a female.

I think they are both males, it is early but the spotting on the unpaired fins looks pretty strong.

He’s probably 12 inches or so now and an absolute killer.

It’s probably boring to most, but any of the Parachromis work great for me. If I was living in a fantasy world and had the tank necessary, a full grown Paroon shark or two would be awesome.

I believe you have a male as well buddy, and Jags/Tool do go well together. Good luck re-homing him, someone is bound to want a free stud Jag. If not, see if your local store would be interested in taking him for some credit.

Always going to vary in size and growth based on sex and dominance. As far as the food, as long as they are eating something your good. As they grow and get accustomed to the routine you can vary the diet by slowly changing it up. Maybe once a week give them some mysis shrimp or dried bloodworms...

I’m thinking female too buddy. Based on the dorsal and the lack of spots. Definitely not 100%, but iv got a feeling if you’d add a male it would quickly become more obvious. I’ve had a few, definitely not an expert though.

Tough call at this stage. Look for the bearding in the lower gill as its grows. If its lower gill is relatively spotless, or at least doesn't have any worming, it's probably male.

Thats an odd JD hustle. Super common fish, 3 bucks most anywhere , plus he's using his personal unit tape for that guy, stretching about six plus inches from what you can see in the photos. What a world. I guess you have to shoot your shot? The internet scares me.
