If you do go with aequidens, I suggest auquidens metae for color and temperment. They are not from the tapajos, but imo would fit in nice with what you have.

Remove the motor housing from the fx5. Pull the impeller out. Clean impeller and impeller housing. Replace impeller in housing and plug in. If no movement or vibration, motor is dead. A 5 year old fx5 should not need a New motor, though it may need a new impeller and o-ring. Sent from my VS985...

I can see where one would lose intetest in the lfs "convict". However, there are many amitilapia (sp?) and cryptoheros that are colorful and interesting. Rio Cabayo cons and cryptoheros myrnae are two that come to mind.

Glad to hear it. Can you tell me what type of salt are you using: non-iodized table salt, table salt or epsom salt?
