Endangered species used to be extinct in all my local rivers except a couple of tributaries of one. Hatchery is part of species recovery plan been going for 30 years. They are now reestablished across entire former range. Only just become available in the hobby.
Mary River Cod she is about 30lb. One of the broodstock in the hatchery. There is a guy producing F1 fish for sale now. Cool monster freshwater fish that US suppliers can now source. Don't grow as big as Murray Cod and prettier.

Only Carp Caps mate. Real pest here, spread to several new river catchments since I posted that. Will make one out of T. mossambicus for you if I get one big enough.
Have not been here for a while, pretty sure I posted this before but could not find it. Always interest in these guys on here so worth a look if you have not seen it. This one (not mine) was 14 years old grown from 2"
Xanthic Tandanus tandanus caught and RELEASED by a mate in a local lake. I nearly cried when he sent me the pics and said he thought about keeping it for me.
Tropical species not suitable but there are many that will be fine. Crimson Spots, Desert rainbows, Ornate Rainbows, Murray River etc. Pacific Blue
Eyes and Empire Gudgeons for a bit of variety.
