    brush algae problem

If you are not growing any plants like java fern on the wood just take it out of the tank and pour some household bleach over it. Leave for a couple of minutes and then just wash down with clear water. The black beard algae you have will turn pink and die off. If you want to be on the absolute...

    Discus turned black please help!

29 gallons is too small a tank for discus. That's for starters and as mentioned earlier they do better in groups, however, only if you upgrade the tank. Rule of thumb is 1 fish per 50 litres. Don't introduce new fish if your one is sick. Forget the salt unless the fish is suffering from...

    DIY styrofoam background + rocks

very nice job. It looks like the tank sits directly on those 4x1s. I would put plywood between the stand. That makes for a better weight distribution. Maybe even add some foam like a camping mat or styrofoam

    Help Breeding Angel's

stick a nylon sock over the filter inlet or the wrigglers will end up in your filter. Better still transfer the pipe into a separate tank. Add an airstone and half the recommended dosage of malachite blue. Make sure the eggs never come in contact with the air while you transfer them

    Geo ID please

the pictures I found on the net of Geophagus iporangensis look nothing like them. To answer your questions. They are breeding like mad. I have them in a mixed South American cichlid tank and three weeks after free swimming there are still about 50 fry doing well. I bought four fish and got 2...
