I have a friend who works at the LFS who does it. Just an update- no interest in food but otherwise normal behavior.

    Should I be Worried?

Hi All, Last night, I discovered that my ray (large female motoro) appeared to have excess slime coat that was coming off. She lives in a 300 gallon Rubbermaid pond with 3 comets. She was eating normally when I noticed this and the water was: Trace of ammonia No2-0 No3-50 ppm Ph-7.6-7.8...

    Moving

Great. I'm not even going to attempt feeding for a few days... I'm assuming its ok she has spent almost the whole time buried. Also, the ammonia's up to .5. Should I let it run its course being that its a new tank or should I do a waterchange? Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

Alright, she is safely in her new tank! But the barb got stuck on the new so I cut some off with barbeque tongs and a razor blade. Should I worry or just wait for it to fall off? Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

    Moving

great. so I have and am planning on using a 75 gallon rubbermaid stock tank to move the ray. since i wont be able to fill it all the way because it would be too much to carry, should i find something else? And in terms of the netting, i'm planning on using a big net and zip tying it so its flat...

    Moving

Hello, In the coming days, I will be moving. My ray is also getting an upgrade from her 185 to something with over twice the footprint. The problem is that I don't know how to safely move her. Here are some of the interesting parts: -16" ray with 2 massive barbs -20 minute drive -water chem...

    Ammonia Trouble

Hello, I've got a beautiful 16" potamotrygon motoro ray in a 185 gal tank and am having some frustrating water chemistry problems. I've had old tank syndrome in here before, but never this bad. It has an 800gph sump and a reaction 4 canister filter. pH: 7.5 (usually on the higher side)...

Ray Keepers--- DO YOU RUN A UV on your tank--and why?

same here. If you ever get trouble with "old tank syndrome" or just ammonia in general I've found it helps to turn it off because it can kill nitrifying bacteria floating around.

    Swim low

stress coat is a water conditioner that can help rebuild the slime coat. This can reduce unnecessary diffusion, supposedly reducing stress by 40%. It works wonders with rays, and has helped my silver and jardini during moves. I would recommend finding the source of stress first. Unless there is...

    First Foray into Arowana ownership

Congratulations. Nice fish! My big silver will eat hikari floating carnivore sticks without fail. look forward to some updates :)

What other fishes can u keep with silver aros?

I've never had any problem whatsoever with rays, plecos, or nocturnal armored catfish. The cats aren't the most exciting, but those are all as safe as they get just so theyre well fed.

    Tank Breeding Arowana

they're not pretty but XXL agricultural stock tanks make great grow out tanks. cheap too. some are even big enough to house a breeding pair. just FYI.

whats wrong with this rays disc?

I've seen ammonia spikes cause "burns" like that.

    Tail Infection???

Hello, My 12" female motoro appears to have some sort of infection in her tail and I'd like some help treating it. Here's some info: 185 gallon take with 35 gallon sump and canister filter. pH 7.6 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 20-30 Ammonia .1 (did a 40% waterchange to lower) I recently moved a 9"...
