IDEAS ON LUTEFISK FOR THE UNINITIATED Most lutefisk eaters know how to cook it, but should you be married to someone whose mother cooked lutefisk and now you are stuck with the job, here are two ways to go about it. Both are recommended and used by good Swedish and Norwegian cooks. To boil...

Lutefisk from scratch feeds 10 people time needed: about 2 weeks Ingredients: 1 kg dried fish 100 g caustic soda 30 liters of water Saw the fish in suitably sized pieces or leave it whole. Put in water. Leave in water in a cool place for 5-6 days if cut in pieces, 8 days if the fish...

The marketers are paid to tell me what I think I might want to here did I listen no I said 400.00. The marketers sell the Marketing and manufacturing rights to the system. ...... yadda, yadda, yadda.... I can't let this go. Really. Hai again - the real "dawnmarie" here. Sassyfishwaterdude -...

Hai! I'm the "real" Dawnmarie. Chris's wife. This hole has been dug so deep that a relief well is needed. You folks here are much more forgiving than some of the blogs I frequent. Sassyfishwater would have been banned as a troll long ago. But perhaps it is quite entertaining to watch the fish...

New Sump Tank with Refugium - Freshwater

I like the idea too. I am currently researching this for a future project. Hydrophyte can be an excellent resource. Kinda' sounds like a riparium/refugium will not completely solve the Nitrate issue. But that doesn't mean it's not a worthy and attractive project.

RUGF I know it isn't currently in vogue. Check some old Chompers threads. Think outside the box.

The funny thing is I never once in any way, shape or form, asked you about the Nitrogen Cycle. You offerred it up as a Non-answer to a question posed and I called you out on it. :screwy: You should have started with this instead of giving us such a runaround.;) Note to self : Try new approach. :)

Drip system nitrate drop time frame.

Dumb Question, what number are we shooting for ? I aim for less than 20, am I overshooting the runway ?

Here is your direct quote : You were not missquoted friend and you might want to rein in the testosterone just a bit. I'm not a blonde , but I did stay at a Motel 6 last night. :D Personal attacks have no place in this forum and are the weapon of the weak of mind when backed into a corner...

You could very well be correct, however, Sassyfishwater's quote addresses Bio filter maintenance not design. Someone would have to show me how the "method" by which I "maintain" my Biological Filter could assist in lowering Nitrate levels. This is the only way I could accept his statement as...

You right. I not perfect. Two M in communicate. From time to time I too have misspelled (miss spelled) words. I actually did not speak (speek) of the nitrification cycle other than to say it did not directly answer the question(s) presented. I would hope it does'nt wipe (whip ?) out the process...

Assuming this is true : It would be the only reason I for one don't write you off as a B.S. artist. The problem I have and have had through the course of this discussion is your approach. You are rightfully secretive about the innerworkings of you invention, but, woefully inadequate in your...

What ? Using Zennzzo's numbers ,40 gallons daily in a 225 gallon tank, he is replacing the volume of water in his tank every 6 days (5.625) or 18% daily. Even these numbers are artificially high due to the continuous mixing action of new and existing water. I do a conventional 40 to 50% W/C...

What size GPH pump for 360 gallon tank?

Ahh yes. The ongoing saga of the "ideal" turnover rate. For reference I have 950 GPH on my 240 gal.(4x Turnover) and 500 GPH on my 120 Gal. (also 4x). I'm not faulting Prettykitty's choice of words, I just don't subscribe to the theory that there is such a thing as an ideal turnover rate. There...

    A accidentally great intake location!

Just havin' a little fun with ya'. I'm just wondering if by moving the decor around in your tank you didn't improve the flow pattern also.
