I run a 300 gallon with three FX6's and would get the green water tinge without a UV. I ended up custom plumbing a 36W TurboTwist unit on one of the Fx6 and my water is clear. If the custom plumbing thing is a bit too much for you, the other idea would be to try Fluval's new in line clarifier...

I would get a bit of green water in my 300 so I added a Coralife 36 watt to one of my FX6 and it works great for that purpose. Had to custom plumb a “holder” to do it however. I used valve unions so I could remove the unit to service and still keep pump running.

Not yet... Not big enough yet, would still be endli chow, lol. I know from experience in the past with other fish. Bichirs can eat some surprisingly big fish! The dollars have put on quite a bit of size. Based off the anal fin shape, looks like I have two males in the mix, so a 2M to 6F ratio.

A little over a month now and they have grown a lot. Still a ways to go before they can go into the 300 but very good growth rate.
