Based on my own experiences, $1000 Canadian is about right for an Aimara @ 12".

How to Identify If Your Wolf Fish is an Aimara or Another Species

Stick your hand in the tank, when you pull it out and your missing fingers it's Aimara.

Just a heads up Arapaimeg, the wolf fish from Gold Garden are not Aimara but the common wolf Malabaricus, hence the $100 price tag.

Who has their Piranha on pellets?

I just recently got my 15 inch Piraya to take massivore pellets and i couldn't be happier. I will totally keep him on this diet if I can with tilapia and smelt as a treat once in awhile.

    Pirahna

If you've never kept Piranha before then Reds are the easiest in my opinion. Again, how many you keep depends on tank size. Do your water changes every week and feed a varied diet with the proper temp and you should be fine. Also, keep an eye out for overly aggressive fish.

How do you Aimara-Proof your tank top?

Thankfully none of my Aimara's jumped out of the tank, but my first one tried. Let me tell you it was about 14 inch and jumped like a torpedo hitting the glass so effen hard i thought it broke for sure. Everything i had on top like lids, light and a 10lb weight shifted so do not underestimate...

My Aimara is from Guyana and it has a similiar green/blue shine when it turns on an angle but a lot less than those from the first few pics.
