    Central American dithers

Thanks boon..Yeah he does have a small nuchal hump which is what surprised me when I picked him up. THe previous owner must have taken really good care of them. I picked it up from a 55 gallon already with two large oscars in it.

    Central American dithers

Whoops! Sorry guys, I had to change it but forgot to update the link. Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCOlaAAd1jA&feature=channel_page Well had the dithers for a week now. Only one dissappeared during the night. Other than that it looks like the jag leaves them alone. I have silver...

Large jag, too aggressive for this tank?

Give it a shot. It's hit or miss. IMO, Jags are like Oscars with the confidence of a bigger and stronger body, Bigger mouth with stronger jaws and large teeth. My current 10" Male Jag is a pansy. Great looking fish, looks mean, but absolutely no attitude at all. I'm hoping it will toughen up as...

    Central American dithers

Okay, I took a chance with one of you guys' smaller choices.... Came back from the LFS with 5 Buenos Aires Tetras and a Tiger Pleco. (The silver dollars were too expensive lol!) I'm gonna try these guys for now and if they're still here by the end of the week, I'm gonna grab about 5-10 more for...

    Central American dithers

Haha, Tinfoils are awesome but I'm trying to get something that doesn't get over 5" because the Jag is only in a 90. I don't think I will be getting it a larger tank until it hits 13"+ if it ever does. I have driftwood "caverns" for small fish to take shelter and live amongst while the jag...

    Central American dithers

Alright thanks everyone. I guess i'm gonna go with something foreign. Noone knows my tank was supposed to be a mini Lake Managua biotope except for me anyways lol. This jag's mouth is just too big so I guess I will have to give up on the little fish and go for something like silver dollars or...

Blue Dragon Flowerhorn Growth and New Managuense setup

Here's a comparison of my Flowerhorn from 2006 and 2008. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwd-13E5qyg&feature=channel_page I recently sold the flowerhorn and was going to get rid of one of my empty tanks....but then...couldn't resist and got a Managuense! So here it is by itself in a 90 gallon...

    Central American dithers

What are some good dither fish from central america? My jag is a bit lonely and was wondering what I could throw in there to liven up the tank. It's not a very aggressive jag so it might let them live if they are fast. Looking for Central American fish. Preferably a species found around Lake...

Red oscar Vs Black shark Round1

My Jag is such a panzy

Jags are those shy, wimpy, little scrawny kids that get picked on when little but then they grow into huge buff mofos that whoop anybody's ass. Trust me, they are frickin powerful fish once past 8".

My new 8" Red Tail Cat....Gills are flared.

Hi! I just picked up an 8" Redtail catfish from a friend about 15 minutes ago. I noticed that it's gills are a little flared on the edges. I was wondering if it can recover from that? Thanks.

Pictures of my 12" Blue Dragon Flowerhorn

Thanks everyone. Cichlid pellets lol. I think the main key is clean water and warm temperature. I keep my temps around 82-84 degrees. I noticed it's hump went down alot and it wasn't so active when the temp was 75 degrees.
