Update of the big guy Bane the Dovii Jaguar cross

Yes highly aggressive. He's bullied everything he's ever been with. And extremely viscious toward me when I'm trying to clean the tank. All good fun

    Established Sponge?

2 months is safe. After that time you should definitely be able to keep what stock you want. Sent from my GT-I9100 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

    Giraffe catfish question

They eat invertebrates so I don't see why they wouldn't eat a fish that could fit in its mouth. It's omnivorous so an opportunistic feeder. I wouldn't risk it.

Need HELP with my OSCAR fish tank!!!

I would say it would be fine to have a small catfish in there at the moment, given that the oscars are only 3 inches. But really once they are all fully grown that tank could fit 3 oscars only

    Established Sponge?

When your cycling its normal for there to be a spike in water parameters. Give it time for the bacteria to establish, then the ammonia and nitrite will go to zero, and water changes or plants can reduce the nitrate. It has only been two days, it takes about 2 months to fully cycle a tank. But it...

]V[ONSTER Central American Community Tanks Discussion

Here was my 150 gallon guapote community Other than some territorial scraps, it worked well for over a year. All the fish were over the foot mark. The P. motaguense pair were very aggressive as time went on. The P. dovii female laid eggs once a month and became very aggressive...

    Sand, our experiences

Ok so once again, I am faced by a cloudy tank. This is why I went bare-bottom before, and it seems sand is just trouble. I added play sand to the tank 2 weeks ago, after thoroughly rising. There was no clouding at all! I thought, job done...tank looks much nicer. However over the last...

my giraffe catfish has still got sand stuck to it, normal?

Thanks everyone, a little update... The cat seems to have returned to normal, after roughly a week. The sand still sticks to it but now falls off much quicker.

my giraffe catfish has still got sand stuck to it, normal?

Hi, I added play sand to my tank 2 days ago after being bare-base for about 6 months. The catfish seems happy enough, however the sand is not falling off the body. All the other fish shed the sand within a few hours, they are cichlids and have scales. The giraffe catfish doesn't so maybe its...
