    Lamprologus speciosus

Loving this species. So far thinking I have 1.1.1, as two of the individuals are far less aggressive towards each other than they are to their tankmate, who is struggling to claim any territory at the moment. My first personal tank, although my brother keeps many fish and my family has kept a...

    1.0.1 Uromastyx ornata philbyi

Looking more and more like 1.1, thankfully. Wouldn't be all that pleasant to drop the cash on two more. Doing well, up to 40g.

    1.0.1 Uromastyx ornata philbyi

Anytime Anytime. I was fortunate enough to happen across a breeder, and was far enough up in the list that his next clutch covered me. Seemed so simple after so much searching.

    My Various Abronia

I agree. At a local show there were at least a dozen adult graminea and a handful of babies. A few individuals of other species as well.

    My Various Abronia

Very nice, I wish you luck in further breeding, the genus needs it.

    Fly Fishing in Colorado

My first time fly fishing with my new setup, and my first time in a few years really actively fly fishing instead of trying to catch panfish. I was on a trip to a scout camp in Colorado, and caught a few nice trout. Only got pictures of a few, but caught half a dozen or so. Biggest pictured is...

Any Earless Monitor Keepers out there?

I agree entirely, although I suspect there are more out there than we realize. With their fossorial nature they're unlikely to be found, which likely contributes to their perceived rarity. Borneo is certainly in dire straits, captivity is likely the best option for much of its native species

    Texas horned lizard

I know some people breeding some similar Phrynosoma species, it seems they're really a pain. If I was rich, I'd keep them. But the constant supply of ants will eat you out of house and home.

Any Earless Monitor Keepers out there?

There's a decent number in the states now, although I mainly see them on Facebook groups. Good luck with breeding, the species needs all the bloodlines it has to contribute. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they turned out to be quite easy to breed. Just look at crested geckos. Used to be...

New uromastyx, need an exact ID

I've never once seen a skin issue with a Tokay that was caused by being handled properly. Grasping Phelsuma surely will, but allowing them to climb on you as I do with all my animals will not cause an issue. To go to the extent of wearing gloves, simply to force an animal to interact with you...

New uromastyx, need an exact ID

Have you worked with Uromastyx? I see a lot of he said, she said, but no mention of personal experience. I know plenty of Uromastyx keepers and breeders, as was necessary to locate my individuals. I have also kept several species, and bred Uromastyx dispar ssp. Almost no breeders handle their...

New uromastyx, need an exact ID

My experience with multiple species from various backgrounds in this genus is all I have to offer. If you have something more substantial, please, share.

I say exactly how I know this in the last two sentences.

That is true, more water would also mean more room for other fish I suppose

New uromastyx, need an exact ID

If you force handling on these animals they will simply lose any trust you've thus far gained, unless they are simply too cold to protest. Uromastyx are display animals, brief handling on their terms is all I would suggest. They do not stop getting stressed by handling, the best you can hope for...

    1.0.1 Uromastyx ornata philbyi

No, I do not. The Calcium : Phosphorus ratio is atrocious, and it offers no real dietary benefit. Mazuri is fine, however it should just be a treat.

    1.0.1 Uromastyx ornata philbyi

As some of you may remember, I purchased a young male Uromastyx ornata philbyi back in 2011, and at the time had very little experience in the hobby. After roughly five years, and much learning, I finally tracked down another. A young, suspected female. Hopefully, this little girl will be able...

New uromastyx, need an exact ID

I actually just spent a half an hour typing, before realizing I should just post a link. This is the best resource as far as Uromastyx care is concerned, other than talking to keepers and breeders directly. (I'm happy to help further if you have any questions). This is a site I have helped out...

    75 gallon

Sounds good. Floor plan is roughly 48x18. Tank is 20" tall, so if I wanted to use that space for other fish I could do that as well, and just stick to underwater plants.
