stocking suggestions for a 125 gallon african tank

Twenty should be fine in you tank. You could probably add more if you like as long as your filtration is up to par. As far as the bumble bee cichids if you like them go for it. I have had many in the past and never had any issues. Some people will probably disagree, but I find if you cram...

Need help IDing my new african!

To me it looks more to be a hybrid of a dimidiocromis strigatus. But at that size and without seeing it in person it is still a toss up. female Deffinatly not a protomelas taeniolatus (red empress) as I have breed them for many years. The face is way to elongated to be one. juvnile

    THE BEST MBUNAS SUBSTRATE ????

I have been keeping africans for a long time, about 15 years. As far as what you want for substrate it is really up to you and your personal preference. I have had cichlids in bare bottoms, gravel, sand (dark and light), and numerous other substrates. If you want to go with something with...

    Tigrinus feeding frequency

I used to feed my old tig everyday. He would get a few shrimps and scallops, enough to just make his belly grow. Then the next day he would be ready for more. I did do water changes everyday, so I'm sure that aided me in being able to feed him everyday.

    Eureka Reds - Hybrids?

I don't personally know the exact history of the albino eurekas either. This is just from what I read and noticed. They exploded on the market the exact same way the albino taiwan reefs did. But it will still be interesting to find out what the ACA says about line bred and hybrid fish being...

    Eureka Reds - Hybrids?

I didn't say all albinos were hybrids. Your albino C. afra (cobue) would just be naturally occuring cause one of your breeders have the gene to pass on to the fry. In the case of the eurekas, they are man made/ line bred. Then you have the albino eurekas. I'm sure there were some albinos the...

    Eureka Reds - Hybrids?

Eureka reds are not a naturally occuring fish in lake malawi. They are line bred from the Aulonocara jacobfreibergi (Otter Pt.) All they did was enhance the red in the fish by breeding all mostly red fish together. They stayed away from the more yellow and orange fish to try and keep the red...

    Regional Clown Loach pricing

Around here we don't have much to choose from as far as the size of the clown loaches go. They are all mostly in the 1''-3'' range and are any where from $8-$10 and that is pretty standard. You will occasionally find a larger one, but they are usually bought up real quick so I don't really...
