    Non-lame customer moves.

:iagree: Sometimes I think the best customers are kids. I've noticed that their parents are usually the ones who have the impatient "hissy fit", wanting what they want now. Weird. :)

oh lord, another petsmart sucks thread.

Oh, I forgot to add that I've seen quite a few petco employees visit this site. What does that say about Monster Fish?? Feel the love, folks :)

oh lord, another petsmart sucks thread.

How very nice. Levels of knowledge vary from employee to employee and from store to store. I've met some smart folk and some idiots at both. I know that some work at both the chains and the mom and pop stores simultaneously. My bottom line is, you can't judge a book by the cover, and if...

    Cliché Fish Stories

"This one time I had this sucker fish, and it got huge! Like this big!" Ha! This is by far my fave, hear it almost every day. Except people hold their fingers about 6-8 INCHES apart. *sigh* Another good one that I just LOVE... "Oh, I know my water's fine. It's really clear." :nilly:

    glofish

I'm just curious... I'm sure you've all seen the "modified" danios (i.e. glofish). A while ago, on the Discovery channel, I saw a show on the real Glowfish that had jellyfish genes spliced into them. They actually gave off light, and were not danios. They looked nothing like the glofish you...

    Hole in the head??

Actually, I have a piece of driftwood in there that is y-shaped and measures about 3 1/2 feet long by 24 in. tall. It has no effect on the pH, which I think is weird. My water changes are 50% once weekly, so I think quality isn't an issue...maybe I should try peat. Is that something you have...

    Hole in the head??

So I know that Sevrums naturally have little tiny holes on their head and "nose" for sensation and whatnot, but how do you tell if it's hlle? My sevrum is about 8-9 inches long, my water has no ammonia, no nitrites, and nitrates are a constant 20 ppm. The pH is 8.0 out of the tap. The holes...

    Here's a question fer ya...

So I have to give a big "freshwater tank workshop" at work on saturday (I work at Petco, hate me if you want). I thought it would be a good oppertunity to dispel the "1 inch per gallon" myth, and the "goldfish bowl" myth.... I was just wondering if anyone had any other good points for me to...

    20g choices...

Word. my closed mind was just thinking of a 30 gallon tank.:footinmou

    20g choices...

A sevrum would get WAY too big for a 3 ft tank! So would an Oscar or a Jack Dempsey! All of those fish get a foot long or more...they wouldn't even be able to turn around... :(

    My oscar is a little b!tc|-| !!

there are a lot of reasons the oscar could be hiding...hes prolly way stressed. i'd give him some more time.

    First post on MFK, AND...

I think that if your pond is not connected to any other water source (i.e. water isn't flowing in or out) you probably would want some sort of filter. Without any of nature's "janitors" I would think you'd get a pretty nasty algae bloom pretty quick.

    Vacation

I've done the individual portion thing and the person I got to watch my fish still screwed it up. I lost some fish and I wasn't very happy about it. If you can find someone you at least somewhat knows what they're doing, go for it, otherwise I'd prolly just leave 'em.

    help id this fish

I think there have been several threads on the alleged infertility of blood parrots...I think they can actually reproduce. That really looks like a parrot, too.
