10"parachromis Freddy badly beaten up :(

if he's still breathing don't bury him. I had a jaguar beat to the extent of certain death. Entire right side of body scales removed to the flesh, it looked like freddy krueger's face and her fins were ripped off. She was laying on her side when i found her with no energy to move. I immediately...

    Internal parasite

looks like Saprolegniasis. if it starts growing and looking like cotton ball threads it is probably what I stated. If not, it does look like a fungus.

    Peas and Cichlids?

From the things i've read, semi cooked deshelled peas are suppose to be fed. I don't think frozen should be a problem or shelled, but just sharing some info I've seen.

    New micro flowerhorn

can anyone elaborate on micro flowerhorns?? Someone previously posted a thread about this new "Strain" and some discussion about it took place but nothing with a solid base has turned up. Some look like short bodies and srds???? What am I missing here...

Need A ID on this Flowerhorn

blood worms should not be fed on a regular basis, unless you want a constipated flowerhorn. And beefheart is way too high in protein and fat for flowerhorns digestive system. They are prone to intestinal issues very easily.

What a strange world we live in.

Expect the unexpected. Fish breed on their whim, not ours. I've had countless fish that would lay eggs, but never get fertilized and I wasn't really expecting it, was just excited to see it actually happen. I've also had fish together that unexpectedly bred after being together for 1 year.

    Thai Silk grading

I bought my thai for $10 that looked similar to yours. Slowest grower ever! She has grown a whole 2 inches and I've had her for 1 year at least, but she is very nasty to tankmates.

Is my jaguar cichlid blind? (Parachromis Managuensis)

don't look like a disease, look likes he's sustained a bit of damage from other fish. eye looks like the outer skin, cornea, and lens may be gone. my fish have had damage to the eyes before and they have healed, but never that bad.

    Hopeful

don't worry too much about an adequate tank if you're moving. Just provide the best care you can until you're able to give him something better.

Vieja Synspilum x Purple Rose Queen

You can probably get some dirty kamfas, but what to expect is a pretty wide range. The one thing with hybrids is, you have to grow them out to really see their potential.

Is there anyway to make my Flowerhorn deeper red?

lighting only helps increase the "look", it doesn't necessarily increase the natural red. I've had a mix of low light, natural light, bright light etc with all of my flowerhorns, and it's all in the fish. The richness of red comes and goes regardless of any of these circumstances, including...

    aggresiveness flowerhorn vs red devil

old thread, but flowerhorns are not persistent most of the time if the fish they are attacking doesn't die or back down. They do tend to pick on most fish regardless of size, but they will usually coexist without any issues if they don't think they can kill it. I have 2 14" males together with a...
