I hate this characin forum, you guys got me hook on ATFs. Good thing that ATF is a brevis and I don't have the tank space for it. Right now Im just looking for datnoids and clown loaches anyways.

true, problem is I live in MI, not CA. If I want a ATF its either Rt4, or 2 LFS. More specifically the ATF has to be FATF. Just out of curiosity, what are the most commonly imported ATFs? Is there a list of most imported/common to least?

**UPDATE** I finally saw him eat in front of me for the first time, little guy dove straight for the shrimp on the fishing line. He struggled with the shrimp eventually the shrimp broke free of the line. Gotta be honest, kinda felt like Jeremy Wade for a sec...

will do, but seriously this guy is so shy he doesn't eat in front of me. he only took the shrimp after I turn off the lights. good thing he took the shrimp, he was eyeballing the clown loaches...even though the clown loaches are half his size

Minor success, I took market shrimp and thread fishing line through the shrimp and tied the shrimp near the filter outflow so the shrimp was dancing around the middle of the tank. the atf took the shrimp!!! Live to frozen in one day, not too bad.

Yeah, I hear massivore is the best there is, but price is still an issue with me. I figure I'm gonna try some Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold and see how that works out. Day 1 of my ATF not getting feeders, wish me luck!

TBH, you have everything down. Tankmates are good, diet is meaty, good dim lighting, and places to hide. Just make sure you see him eat and keep the water clean. Just be careful if you get another pleco, L25s are nasty mean towards other plecos.

I haven't used feeders in easily 10 years (I was young and had an arowana), now I remember why I stopped using them. Its not because of the whole inhumane peta thing, its that they increase bioload, get stuck in the filter screen tube, possible parasites, and yeah its just a PITA in general...
