I bought a brand new HOT magnum 250 for my 20L tank and I am experiancing some loud "splashing" sounds. I have always heard this filter is silent and this thing is LOUD. The water level in the tank seems to only be at 1/4 of filtration chamber, I am not sure if this is normal.

Those regular JD's wil hound those EB's The EB's are not as aggressive hardy as JDs. Also, they grow smaller which leads to disaster. You would need a LARGE tank to make those combos work. :) A single pair of JD's needs a 75 at least.

As a puffer owner I will tell you now, if you care at all about those other fish evacuate them as soon as possible. Fahakas arn't aggressive like a cichlid, they are like serial killers, when they want to they will dispose of every fish in the tank.
