But I call them all boys until they show me traits of being girls... as the vast majority I've raised have turned out to be boys... although I haven't been breeding them long enough to have had any of my spwans reach sexual maturity (or even close).
I have a JD that looks exactly like that. My Red Tail Cat is gonna end up making him lunch though.
Most of the time 2 blues won't produce viable fry they hatch out and don't usually live you have to breed to normal jacks with the HET. gene to produce good blues

But I'm finding if the two BG's used are closely related, this brings a higher yield of fish with undesirable physical traits...
Breeding Blues just doesn't leave much room for cutting corners or taking an easier path...
