I am considering ordering a tubular stand for a new 90g tank.
I have never even seen a tubular stand before. Can someone take a picture of theirs and post it? Has anyone made and attached a skirt and doors to theirs?
Pros and Cons of tubular stands? (it is the only stand I can get that isn't made of particle board...)

I love the steel tube stands sold across Canada at the Big Al's chain. they are made by a company in Hamilton called Hamilton Manufacturing.

I have used them for the last 20 years. they last longer than a tank will..

below is a pic of my 150 gallon, 72x18" steel stand bought at Big Als, and a pic of my old 90 and 65 gallon tank both on a 48x18" steel tube stand.

also here is a pic of my old fishroom, with nothing but steel tube stands LOL

hope this helps

Pro's: very strong since they are made of steel (stronger than any wood stand sold at a fish store), lightweight, inexpensive, you can put a tank underneath depending on the dimensions.

cons: don't look as nice as the wood stands. for saltwater, will get surface rust more easily that has to be sanded and repainted periodically. It does concentrate the weight onto 4 legs, so depending on the location, this can be an issue..you will notice I made solid maple wood feet for my 150 so it doesn't punch through my basement laminate flooring..
