Gar noobs need easy consise answers which is gar plus cichlids is a no. when u get experience u can try other combos.
oh and put a bannana in ur ear! A bannana in my ear? Put a ripe bannana right into your favorite ear

I don't think new gar keepers are somehow dumber than other noob fishkeepers. I'd rephrase it as "Gar + aggressive cichlids = bad news"
