U should do a firemouth x parrot hybrid they call them jellybeans they look pretty cool and don't get bigger than 4-6" maybe they would do fine in a 55.

At the lfs in my area they list jellybeans as a fm x parrot cross but we all know how reliable the info at the lfs can be
the ones i seen look much diferent than your pic i am now thinking they where also color died fish
