my new diy wet/dry water return filter

check it out I made it out of an old hang on power filter.
water enters through the bottom pvc where the old pump was located then flows through the filter media as it would as a hang on filter. filter cartridges have a adjustable flow built in so i should be able to adjust water flow to match overflow drain easily. Plus I will never have to worry about the dreaded back siphon.......

have yet to test it but thought i would show you guys what i have been working on

Nice. What kind of media is in there now? I wonder what would happen if you covered the hole with a screen and filled it with some type of ceramic rings or somthing.

The hole in the center gets covered by a channel that diverts water over and up into the center of the filter cartridges. I plan on filling the whole thing with carbon. As this is just the return side of my wet dry system.
